Avery's 1st Track Meet!

Avery attended her first All -Comers Track Meet tonight! She competed in the long jump, the 50 yard dash, and the 200! The long jump didn't go so hot, she ran quite well but didn't get the idea that she needed to jump at the end...but she did it all in full cuteness of course. Now the 50 yard dash was a different story. Once she got running, she was in her element...even looking over at the camera for a smile half way. You MUST check out her video on youtube. I was very sceptical of the 200. It was 8:00 at night and she was pretty much shot, but when asked if she wanted to run again or go home she continually said "run mo"...so we stayed. Now, the 200 is FAR so I didn't think there was any chance she'd make it, but this girl sure loves to run. She took off and didn't stop once.....she even came in 2nd place ( no video sorry, my mistake)! I think JJ had a hard time keeping up with her. What fun this little track event was...I see more in Avery's little future. :)

Avery's Happy Day!

Well, we celebrated Avery's 2nd birthday a few days early. So, in Avery world...she has been 2 for a few day! As her birthday party approached we began to talk about what might happen at the party. Soon Avery began referring to her birthday as her "Happy Day". It stuck, so we put it on her cake. We kept this years party simple with only family. Although simple, it involved plenty of craziness and tons of fun. It is amazing how much changes in one year, Avery knew just what to do with the presents and even stopped to open and take a peek at each card! I can't believe our little baby is 2...it is so much fun to watch her grow, but sad to see the baby stages pass on by.

A Week of Celebrations! ROUND 1

This past week was one of many celebrations! To be honest every weekend in June holds some sort of celebration for our family...and many weekends more than one! We kicked last weekend off by celebrating my mom's graduations from Eastern Washington University. We are soo proud of her and all of her hard work. FYI: My Mom recieved the Francis Houston award at Eastern, an award only 20 students are awarded each year...she accomplished this while working full time and being a mom and Gma! She's amazing! So, to say we are proud is an understatement.

The following day we had dinner in the park to celebrate JJ's birthday! It was a great time of relaxing, eating and playing games. Avery loves her new cousin Gillian....if she could only touch every bit of her she'd be happy.

If she is around her family and in particular Cousin Grace nothing can

prevent a good time.

Big Girl Bed

Well, we finally bit the bullet and made the big

move to the big girl bed. I wanted to take care

of this landmark with plenty of time before the

new baby came. When Avery saw her crib being dismantled

she was very upset, but when the new bed

came into sight she was nothing

but excitement! Two nights down and she has done a

great job sleeping. After installing a

pool noodle under her sheet (thank Lori) to hold her in, we

have had no more falls. It makes me teary

to think that my baby is no longer

sleeping in a crib.

We had to fill up the extra space with every pillow

and comfy we could find.
