Apple Pickin' Time

This year our apple tree in the front yard was loaded

with apples. After many began dropping, we

decided we had better pick some...make some apple pie...

and maybe some apple sauce. Avery loves the apples and was

to our suprise quite the little

helper during this chore of picking apples!

Avery caught on quick to the idea of putting apples in the box.

She found her own personal box and began to slowly fill

it. This is what it looked like when she started.

A little climbing makes any chore fun!

Quite the little worker...hauling boxes all by herself!

Of course there is always time for a little

"apple break"!

Here is her box in the end....quite impressive I must say

(minus the fact that she picked all the "wormy" ones

from the ground....but hey, she IS only 15 months old)

Holding on to Summer!

It was 85 degrees out yesterday....not quite what you'd expect

for the first day of fall! We took advantage of the beautiful day,

turned on the sprinkler...stripped down to the diaper, and spent the

afternoon exploring/playing in the yard. What a wonderful afternoon!

Avery loves to be outside more than anything else! I'm

a little worried about how we will cope with freezing

temperatures!

A Little "Daddy Time"

Woodland Park Zoo

We packed up the car and headed to Seattle this weekend!

Uncle Nate has a new place over there and we wanted to

see him and his new digs. We went to the zoo the first day

and planned on doing Pikes Street Market the next day.

Of course, it was down pouring the whole next day which

forced us indoors....to the aquarium. Somehow I only

managed to take pictures at the zoo!

One of the most impressive animals was the Grizzly bear! This was

Avery's face as she watched him move about.

It was wayyyy past naptime by the time we hit

the elephants....Dad's shoulder was much more appealing.

Avery tried mini-oreos tonight.....it was quite the experience! Almost as good as birthday cake!
